Reformat the Remix

So I managed to start up Caturday after two months only to skip four post days in a row. I had two or three drafts sitting around, but I've been much busier than normal lately and just skipped out entirely. Once September is over, the majority of my tasks will be completed and I should have sufficient time to write.

One of the posts I was going to make was about city building and regular building games, featuring my two favorites Terraria and Banished. Well, I had to reformat my laptop and, while I tried to save my Terraria world - and still have yet to see if I was successful, my most recent thriving and bustling Banished town has been obliterated. Without time to actually play as it is, that post will have to wait.

The most exciting news about Warcraft that I have is that I'm currently reinstalling it after the reformat.

I have been dabbling in a little Hearthstone lately because I just picked up a tablet, but honestly my laptop is usually closed and off to the side recently as is. I had been putting off reformatting it for weeks because I didn't want to have to go through all... all this, like I currently am.

I don't have to answer any of your questions, it's a long story okay? Gosh.

So I can't even play any computer games to write about them until I reinstall them. A new Colonial Charters update came out for my favorite Banished mod while I was busy not playing it, so I probably would have started a new town anyway.

The good news is that the reformat went well and my laptop will see a full recovery.

Caturday Revival

I haven't done Caturday for about two months. Whoops. I never intended to stop, persay, but it got really easy to skip. I also skipped last Wednesday - but this week has been incredibly busy, so I have plenty of excuses.

Since I haven't done Caturday in so long, I decided that instead of giving myself a way out of it by trying to think of a theme and possibly not coming up with anything, I'm going to make it about my own cats.

But I'm also going to talk about them a little bit, in case you've just started tuning in recently. And also because I want to, because they are my cats and I think they're great. Surprising, I know.

I'll believe it when I see it

Before I go on with this lie, I'll admit up front that this post is a bar above being about nothing. I browsed the internet for awhile and logged into WoW to see if I could be inspired, but nothing turned up. It's long been my policy that if I am not interested in writing about something, I will not waste anyone's time forcing words out onto the keyboard without any personal investment. That's how these wonderful cop out posts come to be.

I'll let you in on a secret, though. I totally have a post idea. Several post ideas, actually. Like, maybe even ten or twelve that follow the same basic principles. A series you could even say. The only problem is that it will require in game traveling and artistic screenshot gathering and editing - in other words, lots of time. Time isn't something I have today, so that makes it something for me to start another day.

Why don't I have time today, you ask? Oh, don't be shy, I know you're totally interested.

Happy Caturday, internet! Cats, like people, yawn before they go to sleep, when they wake up, and also randomly for no apparent reason. Cats, however, are much cuter when they yawn. If you were prepared to disagree, my reasons are listed below.

While looking for Caturday ideas, I found out that there is a traveling cat circus show.

I've never been, having just found out about it today obviously, but their website's worth a look!

They were also featured on Animal Planet with the world's only cat band.

And they say you can't train cats, pfft.

Going, Going, Guano!

It's been a minute. I've been so busy lately, and yet I haven't had anything interesting enough to post about. I have a few ideas, but in the end I opted for the quieter, lazier option, and just didn't write anything.

it's not that I don't want to write, I've just been really preoccupied

I've started getting back to playing DnD, and we're setting up to restart our original campaign that we abandoned oh so many months ago due to various reasons. That's something to be excited about. We have had some new players come into the picture and new campaigns, so things have been a little up in the air lately about who we're playing with and which characters.

In general, I've just had higher priorities than video games and blog posts, which is kind of uncomfortable really. Whenever I've been free, I've been socializing, which has also been getting too frequent for my comfort.

Oops I Caturday'd Again

Last week, I forgot Caturday. Well, no, I didn't, but I was busy all day. I'd say I'd make it up to you with an extravagant Caturday today, but I'm not going to because I will also be busy all day today! Tomorrow, as I mentioned briefly yesterday, we're having a DnD overnight event, so I have to get prepared. I'm also leaving today for a separate social event.

I'm sorry, here's some great cats to make it up to you.

Lagoon: Land of Druids

At the local game shop with a small group yesterday, I was contemplating how I wish I had more board games, but also how I didn't want to spend money on one. I opted for the first option when I saw this game, Lagoon: Land of Druids.

If you couldn't already guess, it had gained 70% of my favor for simply being druid based, so I looked it up on my phone for a few minutes before deciding that it had a seemingly positive enough reaction on the internet and made up my mind. We were looking at some other games, but "land of druids" won, not to mention the how gorgeous the art is.

Well, you see, cats are adorable and do tons of super cute things, but they also definitely have to poop, in fact I'd say most likely daily, if not more often. It's a reality that is important to acknowledge if you want a happy cat, and understanding cat bathroom habits can help your cat caretaking skills immensely.

There is actually a buttload of information regarding cats and their poop boxes. You could write a full length novel about it. Luckily, you don't have to do that, and you can just read this post. So, let's get right into this crap!

Get Out the Way! It's Caturday!

Since I started blogging again after my move, I found more Warcraft related topics to write about than I had thought I would. I've really just been doing so much house-related stuff that there aren't even other topics to write about. I may do a Story of Seasons post, but I've only been able to play it for a few hours - only seven so far. Today, however, my post always explains itself for me.

HIGH FIVE FOR CATURDAY!

Today's not a theme post because the pictures I found that I liked vary too much. Without further ado, here are the pictures I found today that made me make noises that would have warranted strange looks if I had been in public.

Home Sweet Caturday

Since we moved, the three cats have been a bit skittish as they are settling in, but this is Toona's third move and Fishcake's second, while technically also being Kirin's second (although the first time he moved, it was when we adopted him!)

where have you taken me?

Kirin has been the most brave, exploring in the face of danger and unfamiliar noises and not batting an eye at 'strangers'. Fishcake hid under the couch for five hours when we got here, but Toona was the one who hid from the Verizon technician. Both Toona and Fish hide when the door opens, though occasionally a loud noise will scare all three under the couch.

I have a few pictures of them adjusting to their new home for you this Caturday, so please forgive me for my own little show off of my own cats!

The Tragic Ending

How ironic that not a few days after I post about the sad state of small raiding guilds due to Warlords' new raiding system, my guild finally kicks the bucket.

After putting up quite a fight, I'm honestly more surprised that we lasted as long as we did. The only reason I thought we could even pull through was due to our tenacity - but we took a huge hit as three of our best members, one an officer, split off.

Our GM had tried very hard to keep things together, but with this hit, he just gave up. I don't blame him. I was acting recruitment officer and I had been trying pretty hard to find people, but there was just no response. It seemed hopeless, but I figured as long as we had the people we had, we could eventually endure through it. That, of course, would have required keeping those people.

100th Post Celebration

So I've made it to 100 blog posts. Some of them may be garbage cop-outs or little updates, but it's sort of like having 600 days of played time even though at the very least 100 of them are afking in the auction house or alt-tabbing.

Misleadingly, my last post was my 100th post, not this one. Whoops - but, still, here I am. 100 posts about World of Warcraft, cats, D&D and various other video games.

I was aware my 100th post was coming up back around my 94th, but I sort of forgot about it when we found out Kirin might have cancer last week, so it snuck up on me. I didn't know what I was going to do for my 100th post then (which accidentally ended up being about my failed guild merger), and I still don't know what to write now. At first I thought maybe it could be a little bit about myself, maybe my gaming or Warcraft history, but then I thought, who the hell wants to read that?

Why Our Merger Didn't Work

As I posted about previously, our guild attempted to merge with another guild awhile back which totally failed. It's been awhile since the implosion and I think I've realized why it didn't work out.
